Majura Valley Compost is a general-purpose blend of composted organic ingredients and manure to improve your soil and ensure healthy plant growth. Suitable for new or existing gardens, the natural compost contains organic carbon to activate your soil and increase water retention. Overtime soil becomes compacted which decreases its ability to take up nutrients and water. Using Majura Valley Compost will prevent water run-off to improve crop growth for better quality plants and vegetables. Majura Valley Compost can be used all year round with application at the start of spring and autumn highly recommended.

How to use majura valley compost:
For garden beds
Prepare the area by removing weeds, rocks and debris and cultivating the soil.
Apply 50-100mm of Majura Valley Compost to the surface of the area.
Make sure to mix it in! Work Majura Valley Compost into the garden so that the organic matter can be mixed with the topsoil and release nitrogen and nutrient into the soil. This should be done to a depth of at least 100mm and can be achieved with a handheld hoe or garden fork.
Water well
Majura Valley Compost can be used in conjunction with mulch to protect your topsoil.
Follow these steps if you are planting a new lawn or garden bed for expert results.
For plantings:
Dig an area roughly twice the size of your chosen plant pot/punnet/tube.
Fill in 100mm of Majura Valley Compost into the bottom of the hole and place your plant on top.
Backfill the area with Majura Valley Compost and apply a generous amount of water.
For large pots, you can use in conjunction with your chosen potting mix.
Reuse & Reduce
Majura Valley Compost comes in a lightweight and versatile hessian bag which can be reused for a number of applications inside and outside the house. Use it to collect garden clippings, lay it over the soil in between plantings to restrict the growth of weeds, wrap up plants to protect them in winter, or even as a rustic pot plant. After a wash the natural fibre hessian bag can be used as a unique cushion, to store vegetables and produce or for your next craft activity – the possibilities are endless!
