New Mobile Chicken Shed Build

Here at Majura Valley Free Range Eggs, we have just completed another chicken shed build to house 250 new hens. This new mobile chook shed builds on our unique layer design, which we designed and built ourselves and has been the backbone of our business for over a decade. The sheds not only shelter the chooks from predators at night time but also hold all their food and water inside so that they can stay indoors in the event of adverse weather. Having food and water inside maintains the health of the chooks as they move in and out of the shed as they please, whereas many other free range systems allow wild birds who carry disease to share the chooks’ food and water. In addition to our standard features like SKA roller away nesting box and solar-powered lights, the new chicken shed has automatically opening and closing doors and nesting systems to eliminate human error and cut down on labour costs. This shed has the wheels in the centre and is slightly smaller to our previous sheds to make it more portable and mobile and enable the chicken shed travel though a standard farm gate.
